Having worked at wineries in the Hudson Valley, Oregon, and Washington, Ian landed in the Finger Lakes in 2003. While here his wines have earned two Governor's Cups, several 90+ point scores in the major magazines, and even been named as one of Wine and Spirits Magazines "Top 100 Wines of the Year." Barry Family Cellars is the realization of a dream to make only the wines he enjoys using the methods and techniques he feels appropriate for the vintage and variety. In addition to Barry Family Cellars, Ian maintains an active schedule as a winemaking consultant.
When not making wine, he enjoys spending time with his amazing wife Tricia and son Declan, as well as gardening, traveling near and far, collecting records and going to concerts.
